POLICE have appealed for public help to track down arsonists who started a fire at a Sydenham school last Wednesday.
The blaze began at Copperfield College, located at the corner of Community Hub and Calder Park Dve, about 1.40am.
Police said unknown offenders set fire to shadecloth in the grounds of the school.
The fire spread and damaged a wooden picnic table and artificial turf, before it burnt out.
No alarms were triggered by the fire.
Police and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade were contacted at 9am the next day, when the college’s assistant principal noticed the damage and reported it to the Keilor Downs Police Station.
