THE Rotary Club of Sunshine mixes business with pleasure at its weekly guest speaker lunches.
The club’s president, Tony Ebejer, said the speakers spend around 15 to 20 minutes promoting “what and how you go about being successful in today’s world”.
“Within our membership of 20 at Sunshine Rotary we have the likes of local business owners, teachers, police and council office, local government and community leaders together with local residents all working together,” he said.
“Our goals are to achieve a sense of fulfilment and respect from a business and local community prospective, giving as little time as you may have to achieve great things.”
The group’s major projects include school scholarship awards, youth enrichment camps, Multiple Sclerosis support, peer support programs, a youth art show, the Life Education van and international school development projects.
“Fund-raising in forms of Bunnings barbecues, golf days and various charity events help us raise the funds to provide to the above projects,” Mr Ebejer.
“As business owners we know that team work makes everything easier, and even though it may seem that we have a lot happening at Sunshine Rotary, it is mixing business with pleasure that makes it worthwhile.”
The group meets at the Deer Park Hotel in Ballarat Rd for lunch every Tuesday between 12.30pm and 2pm.
Mr Ebejer said the Rotary Club of Sunshine was also hoping to attract new members.
Bookings are essential for guest speakers through Frank Dri on frankdri@gmail.com, or contact Mr Ebejer on 040 173 2269 to find out more about joining the club.
