HE MAY be young, but Matthew Hussey is on his way to the top. And he is running as fast as he can to get there.
After tearing up the track for the last few years, Hussey recently added another impressive milestone to his resume.
While competing at the Victorian Primary School Track and Field Championships at Lakeside Stadium, Hussey completed a hat-trick of gold medals in the 1500 metre event.
He also crossed the line first in 2011 and 2012.
However, what makes his performance truly outstanding is that over the same three- year period, Hussey also won the Victoria Primary School Cross Country Championships three times.
There appears to be no slowing down for the rising star who is aiming for even bigger things in 2014.
Hussey has his eyes on success at state and national level competing for the Altona Little Athletics Centre and Western Athletics.
