Unlocking key to resilience

By NATALIE GALLENTI

MELTON parents are being encouraged to attend a free information forum later this month with a view of creating resilient families.
It’s hoped guest speaker on the evening, renowned clinical adolescent psychologist Andrew Fuller, will offer parents a greater insight into the importance of fostering resilient children.
City of Melton mayor Bob Turner said the forum was an opportunity for parents and the community to attend an informative and engaging presentation that would have a range of benefits for the whole family.
“This forum is an opportunity to learn how to instil resilience in your children and promote a happy and healthy family life,” Cr Turner said.
“The session will provide you will tools to communicate effectively with your children and teach your children how to work their way through life’s challenges.”
The parents-only event will also host local youth service workers.
Anyone interested in attending the event should contact Melton City Council’s reconnect workers on 9747 7200 or kirih@melton.vic.gov.au by Monday 25 November.
The forum will be held at the Melton Community Hall, 232 High Street Melton, on Thursday 28 November from 7.30pm to 9pm.
The forum is supported by Melton City Council and the Collingwood Football Club.
