Café can open another venture

By ALESHA CAPONE

A café which provides employment for young people with a disability is set to open a second outlet in Hobsons Bay.
Yooralla already runs the UCAN Café at Altona North Library which provides jobs and training for youth with disabilities.
Yooralla will soon open another cafe at the recently-built Williamstown Library after Hobsons Bay City Council voted in favour of the idea the last week.
The council will give public notice of the decision to enter into a five-year lease with Yooralla.
Yooralla has committed to investing $80,000 toward fitting out the café and hope to open the food outlet during March next year.
A council report into the matter said no operators expressed interest in taking over the library café lease last year during an expression of interest process, or during a second one early this year.
However two potential providers applied to run the café later during 2012 including Yooralla.
