A dedicated and passionate childcare worker has been recognised for her continued efforts.
Ms Paleologoudias was one of 35 women awarded at the second Hobsons Bay Inspirational Women Awards.
The awards are an opportunity to celebrate the women who put in their time and effort to make our community a better place to live.
Ms Paleologoudias has worked in Early Childhood Education for 20 years and is currently employed by the Williamstown Community and Education Centre (WCEC) as the co-ordinator of child care.
“Early Childhood Education is what I am passionate about. I am a strong advocate for learning through play,” Ms Paleologoudias said.
At the start of her career and after eight years of work Ms Paleologoudias took a break and successfully balanced raising her own three children with part time study.
She recently completed her post graduate diploma in Early Childhood Education at Victoria University.
“Each day in Early Childhood Education is an adventure – you never quite know what will happen.
“Even though we plan our programs, we follow the children’s interests and this leads to some amazing experiences.”
Paleologoudias said she is honoured and proud to be a recipient of the award.
“When I received the news that I had been nominated for the award, not only was I surprised, I was overwhelmed and honoured to be thought of in that way.”
WCEC centre manager Mark Brophy said a significant number of people in the community would agree that she thoroughly deserved the award.
“Cathy is a dedicated and passionate individual. Childcare is her life, and she is always looking for innovate approaches to engaging children under her care.”
