POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a number of incidents in the City of Melton during March including a shooting in Bloomsbury Drive, Taylors Hill on Friday, 8 March.
The male offender was wearing dark track pants when he attended the address and discharged two rounds from an “under/over” shotgun into the garage roller door of a residential premises.
The male then ran to a waiting small silver vehicle which was being driven by another male.
No-one was injured during this incident and police are following up a number of leads.
Meanwhile, another burglary was reported at Melton Waves.
Detective Senior Sergeant Barry Jenks told Star the offender went to the canteen area and stole confectionery and other food before being disturbed by a security officer on Saturday, 9 March.
The offender then produced a knife to keep the security officer at bay and was able to escape on a pushbike.
Det Sen Sgt Jenks said there have been a number of burglaries at Melton Waves in recent times and members of the public are requested to report suspicious behaviour in the area regardless of the time of day.
Property damage continues to be a problem in the area after police were called out to an incident in which the players’ race at the Melton Football Club was damaged when offenders climbed onto the roof and poured paint down the walls, smashed floodlights and ripped the television antenna from its base.
In a separate incident a man received serious facial injuries when he was involved in a road rage incident on 12 March.
The incident occurred on the Western Highway, Ravenhall. Police believe the two males involved were not known to each other.
One of the males was assaulted and received serious facial injuries. A second man has been interviewed by police and charged with Intentionally Causing Serious Injury.
A number of witnesses to the incident have come forward but police are still interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or lead up to it.
