DAVID Fenollar claimed the St Albans Gift in a nail-biting finish on Saturday night. A photo was required to split Fenollar and Nathan Riali who hit the finish line together.
However, it was Fenollar who came out on top with a time of 12.771 seconds to secure first place in one of the state’s most high quality gifts.
Riali’s time of 12.785 secured him second place from Cam Dunbar (12.812) while Luke Stevens (12.845) finished in fourth place.
For his efforts, Fenollar walked away with the $3000 first prize.
The feature race capped off what was a brilliant day for the St Albans Gift which continues to go from strength to strength.
There was also plenty of support for athletes with around 2500 people attending the meet and enjoying the entertainment both on the track and around the grounds.
