Sisters shine like stars

WHEN it comes to studying for exams, Cassandra and Chantelle Monitto are proving two heads are better than one.
The Keilor twins were basking in their success last week after receiving their final VCE scores, ending six years of hard work.
Cassandra achieved an impressive score of 97.6 per cent, making her the dux of her school, Overnewton Anglican College.
Chantelle was equally thrilled with her efforts, which gained her an early acceptance into the course of her choice – visual merchandising.
While Cassandra focuss-ed on her final score, Chantelle was more concerned with building up a portfolio and attending interviews – a prerequisite for her course.
Although they share the same birthday, the twins insist that’s where the similarities end.
While Cassandra’s favou-rite subjects were maths and science, her sister preferred to dabble in the humanities.
“We have completely different interests,” Cassandra said.
“We were also studying separate subjects, so we didn’t really overlap a lot.
“We had our own private little study stations, but we were always there for each other if one of us needed advice.”
“Cassandra helped me quite a bit with my English studies,” Chantelle said.
“It was really great having someone who was going through the same thing as I was in the same house,”she said.
Cassandra said she had been thrilled to learn she had received the highest result in her school.
“I expected to go well, but I had no idea I’d go that well,” Chantelle said.
“I think my secret was learning how to balance study with a social life.
“I decided not to study 24/7 because it was important to have a bit of balance in my life.”
The 18-year-old hopes to be accepted into the Biomedical Science course at Melbourne University.
