Train timetable public meeting

GREENS MLC Colleen Hartland will host a public meeting on Thursday 3 March to discuss the government’s proposed new train timetable which will cut services to the western suburbs.
“We have a window of opportunity for local residents to get together and send a strong message to the government about how the cuts will affect us, and give them the opportunity to fix the problems before the formal announcement is made,” Ms Hartland said.
“I’ve invited an independent expert to explain the new timetable and answer questions. Then we’ll talk about how it will impact our community what we can do about it.”
Ms Hartland said the meeting will have a ‘no nonsense’ and ‘no politics’ agenda – with no politicians speaking on the day.
“The meeting will focus on the Altona Loop, because the Altona Loop service will be badly affected,” Ms Hartland said.
The meeting will be held on Thursday 3 March at 7.30pm at Louis Joel Centre, 5 Sargood St, Altona. Call 9689 6373 or email colleen.hartland@parliament.vic.gov.au to RSVP.
