SCOTTISH born Eilidh Dragovic admits she works her students hard because it’s her passion to see them succeed.
A graduate from the London Contemporary Dance School Ms Dragovic is trained in contemporary dance.
After graduating, she worked as a performer in the UK and simultaneously worked as a dance development officer.
“I grew up dancing,” she said.
“I was always excited by performance and the hard work that goes into rehearsals, the sense of achievement when you learn new skills and getting to work with new choreographers.”
Eight years ago she moved from Scotland to live in Altona, and in 2009 she scored a dream role teaching at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance.
Ms Dragovic said dance education was always her main passion in her dance career.
“I’m training them to be Australia’s next performers.”
She currently teaches contemporary and ballet to the school’s full-time students and has had graduates go on to perform in hit productions including The Lion King, King Kong and Mary Poppins.
“It’s rewarding mentoring them through the hard times and being there to support their achievements.”
“But it’s really exciting to be a part of their journey and to help them achieve their dreams in performance.”
Ms Dragovic said she works her students hard to reach their goals because she sees their potential.
“I enjoy making people work really hard, I enjoy seeing their skill levels increase, I enjoy the feedback that you get from your teaching and the enthusiasm you receive back.”
She said she is proud to work at the school and alongside choreographer Jason Coleman, who is best known for his judging role on So You Think You Can Dance, Network 10.
“For me to work here is an incredible opportunity, it’s really exciting to be a part of a dance business that has really established itself as one of the leading places in Australia.”
