FOOTSCRAY Edgewater is on the hunt for a new coach for the 2013/14 Premier Cricket season.
The club has chosen not to renew former coach, Barry Neivandt’s contract.
Neivandt took over the head coaching role in 2010 and was in charge of the Bulldogs for three seasons.
Footscray Edgewater president Geoff Collinson thanked Neivandt for the positive contribution he made to the club.
“We didn’t renew Barry’s contract and we are looking for a new coach for next year,” he said.
“Barry put in a tremendous amount of work, he is very popular at the club, the players respect him but after three years of basically finishing in the same spot on the ladder … we thought we might need to head in a different direction.”
Collinson added that the process to replace Neivandt will begin immediately.
“We are just about to start our process,” he said.
“Really it is almost as simple as this, we are looking for the very best person to fill the role.
“Over the last three years, we have stagnated on the ladder.
“We think we have a team that is capable of playing finals so we have decided to make the change.”
