Green input sought

DO you have an interest in environmental actions taking place in Hobsons Bay? Are there any environmental issues or concerns that you consider needs addressing?
Hobsons Bay City Council is encouraging residents, businesses and visitors to comment on the Environmental Engagement Strategy 2013-18.
The Environmental Engagement Strategy is, for the first time, a whole of council approach to projects that assist the community to participate in environmental and sustainability events, activities and programs.
This strategy sets a vision, goals, objectives and directions about how the council will engage with the community. It will be backed up by an implementation plan that will align programs to the strategy.
Hobsons Bay City Council mayor Angela Altair has backed the call for community input.
“Hobsons Bay has a unique environment and there are many opportunities for all of us to ensure it is looked after,” Cr Altair said.
“Importantly, this strategy forms a significant part of the council’s Sustainability Framework addressing the challenges around climate change, water, biodiversity and waste management and community engagement.”
As part of the consultation process, the council will also be exhibiting the Climate Change Policy and the Climate Change Adaptation Plan.
