SYDENHAM resident Bharti Goley makes cakes which taste delicious and look delightful. Before moving to Australia last year, Ms Goley trained to specialise in bakery, pastry and confectionary in India.
She worked at a five-star hotel for six years and after marrying, began teaching the art of baking.
“Cooking is my passion and my soul,” Ms Goley said.
“I make so many cakes.”
Upon settling in Australia, Ms Goley began cooking up many tasty treats for her, her husband, her three-year-old daughter and friends.
She has also started taking French Patisserie classes at the Delahey Community Community, teaching her students how to make goodies such as Black Forrest cake, chocolate brownies, melting moments cookies and coconut macaroons.
“I’m thinking I can teach everyone here and then they can make their own delicious cakes at home, so they don’t have to pay someone else money to do it,” Ms Goley said.
Despite the fact Ms Goley makes so many appetising food items, she cannot always sample her own wares.
“My favourites are chocolate cake and ice cream cake,” she said.
“But I am allergic to eggs so I have to make myself eggless cakes.”
Ms Goley said she was constantly searching for new ideas to make her cakes look as good as they taste.
“I’m always looking for different types of decorations so that my cakes will come out looking awesome,” she said.
One of her favourite cake-decorating methods is to use transfer sheets to paint sparkling colours and patterns onto her edible creations.
Ms Goley said she hoped to open a bakery in the future.
