HOBSONS Bay Council last week received another petition requesting the installation of speed humps on a residential street.
The letter containing 35 signatures requested the council install the speed humps at Cyclamen Ave, Altona North.
As reported by Star last week, Spotswood residents have also raised concerned about hoon and speeding drivers – also calling on the council to install speed humps in their neighbourhood.
30 residents of The Avenue, Greene St and Montgomery Ave signed a petition asking for the urgent installation of speed cushions. Councillor Angela Altair supported the petition but noted that speed cushions also had their down-sides.
“I do get, occasionally, complaints about the speed cushions that we put in – but they are affective – so hopefully the installation of them, if warranted, will solve the problem,” she said.
