TALENTED students from Catholic Regional College in St Albans will showcase some of their finest artwork at the 2012 Images Art Exhibition this week.
Students are getting ready to show off their artistic flair when their work is unveiled at the official opening of the school’s annual art exhibition tomorrow night.
Year 10 student Nadia Prestinenzi who will have two of her artworks put on display said the exhibition was a good opportunity to allow students to present their final masterpieces to family and friends.
“The art exhibition is fantastic,” Nadia said.
“I think it is really good because you can see other people’s artwork and their talents.”
The 16-year-old discovered her artistic talent at a younger age and decided to enrol in art classes at school to improve her painting and drawing skills.
“I chose art because it’s always something that I have loved doing,” she said.
“It is creative, fun and something that I really enjoy.”
The artistic student said there was a lot of hard work in the lead up to the exhibition, and that it was sometimes difficult to find time to work on her art projects.
“Some of the artwork takes weeks and weeks and you don’t have enough time to finish it before school ends,” she said.
“I found it difficult and sometimes I was stressing but I had a lot of help and in the end I was happy with my final product.
“I feel proud that I’ve accomplished it and I have finished it off.”
The official opening of the 2012 Images Art Exhibition will be held at Catholic Regional College in St Albans on Wednesday 24 October at 7pm.
