BRIMBANK police have appealed for public help to solve an indecent assault on a teenage boy, which occurred in Deer Park on 11 November.
The assault happened in Sassella Park on Station Rd between 4.30pm and 5pm.
Police said a 15-year-old boarded the 456 bus from Sunshine Railway Station with a female friend, and while travelling another male passenger approached them.
He asked the 15-year-old if he had a “six-pack” on his stomach and then touched the young man’s abdomen, and asked for his phone number.
The older man then offered to walk the teenager home after they both got off the bus in Ballarat Rd, near Station Rd.
Police said the two walked along the road and then into Sassella Park, where the older male hugged the victim and attempted to kiss him.
Senior Sergeant Fred Grove from Sunshine said the 15-year-old became apprehensive, left, and walked home alone.
He said police were seeking information about the perpetrator, a man described in his mid-20s, 175cm tall, with a solid build, freckles, short brown hair and blue-grey eyes.
Police have asked for witnesses who saw the man with the teenager walking along Station Rd or in the park, or a man matching the description, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
