IT’S time to throw a snag on the barbie, open a can of beer and pop on the thongs. Thousands of City of Maribyrnong residents will celebrate the Australia Day public holiday this Thursday, while over at Maribyrnong City Council the cream of the crop will be honoured at the annual Civic Awards. Meanwhile, the Australian Electoral Commission is reminding Australia’s newest citizens to enrol to vote. Highpoint Shopping Centre is also getting into the spirit of things, running Australia Day Craft workshops throughout the week.
