BRIMBANK Council is calling on all green thumbs to take part in this year’s National Tree Day.
Residents can attend the event this Sunday to help plant more than 800 trees and shrubs in a bid to enhance previous works by the Council. The project will help restore the landscape after being used for grazing, quarrying and rubbish tips.
Volunteers on the day will have the opportunity to interact with a selection of ‘Bush Babies’ including a wombat, wallaby and ring-tail possum, as well as enjoying a sausage sizzle cooked by the Rotary Club of Brimbank Central.
The event will be held at Green Gully Reserve.
