VANESSA Sciberras has big plans for the future.
The Keilor Downs resident hopes to one day fight crime, but for now she’s happy to offer her best customer service skills to patrons at the St Albans Leisure Centre.
Vanessa, 21, recently received the 2012 Customer Service Officer award at the Victorian Aquatics and Recreation Awards and said she was shocked by the accolade.
“I was very surprised as I wasn’t expecting to win. It wasn’t until the team were all yelling at me to go on stage to receive my award that I had registered that I won,” she said.
The university student said after years of swimming lessons at Sunshine Leisure Centre she decided to take up a position close by.
“I have always chosen to work within a customer service environment and believed that the position would not only advance my skills, but provide me with the opportunity to get involved in group fitness programs that I enjoy participating in within my spare time.”
But the young fitness fanatic said the best part of the job was the people.
“I have built so many great friendships with members and students from all ages. I love coming to work with such a dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff.”
Vanessa said the support from her coordinator has always motivated her to provide the best customer support she could.
“It is great knowing that I have support behind me and someone that cares.”
