Festive spirit

A WET and windy day did not prevent festival goers flocking to the Laverton Festival last week. The swinging ’60s made a groovy comeback while residents and visitors to Hobsons Bay celebrated all things Laverton. There were free rides, entertainment, face painting and show bags as well as a special visit from Santa. With last year’s festival being cancelled due to heavy rain, residents were pleased the festival made a comeback in 2011. Jayden, 11, Luke, 13, and Matthew, 12, were among those who braved the rain over the weekend. 73594 Picture: KRISTIAN SCOTTA WET and windy day did not prevent festival goers flocking to the Laverton Festival last week.
