School plans a ton of fun

IT’S fun fiesta time at Parkwood Green Primary School to celebrate the school’s 10th birthday this weekend.
The school, which starts from Prep to Grade 6, started out with just 130 students in 2004 and now has up to 1300 children on its roll from around Brimbank and Melton.
The Fiesta will be held at the school on Sunday with amusement rides, local dance school performances and stalls attended by the students including dunk the teacher, trash’n’treasure, coin toss and lucky bottles.
Parent co-ordinator and mother of two, Gulsem Islay says this is the second Fun Fiesta in recent years.
“We hope that this Fun Fiesta will bring the community together to support our school and celebrate all the wonderful work that the school does in giving back to the kids and making this community a great place to live.
“We also want to raise some money for the things like doing up the school hall and buying equipment for the children so we want to encourage the community to come down and have fun and take advantage of the specials,” she says.
Local businesses and community groups have banded together to set up 50 stalls and there will be sausage sizzles, pizzas, souvlaki and plenty of bargains to be found.
Parkwood Green Primary School is at the corner of Gourley Rd and Community Hub.
