CATHOLIC Regional College in St Albans may be home to the next
Leonardo Da Vinci – and they have the artwork to prove it.
Students showed off their artistic flair last week as part of the school’s annual art exhibition and impressed teachers and parents alike with their creative and unique pieces, which included painting, sculptures and more contemporary forms of art.
School spokesperson Angela Robinson said the much-anticipated art exhibition showcased the work of talented students who had put in many hours of hard work into their masterpieces.
Year 10 student Adriano Zarosinski had six pieces on display, and said he was happy with the end result.
The artistic student said one of his favourite pieces was the sculpture of a surrealist shoe, which was a clog imbedded with nails.
Adriano said he enjoyed studying art because it challenged a different part of his mind and the end results were often something to be proud of.
“It’s something different. I was really happy with all the finished products,” he said.
The teenager said there was a lot of work in the lead up to the event, but it was an important part of the school calendar.
