BRIMBANK theatre goers will be treated to a new country musical production next month, when The Tank hits the stage.
The upcoming production by Sunshine Community Theatre will open on 5 November and will feature music by Mick Thomas, frontman of Aussie rock band Weddings Parties Anything, with the script written by his brother Steve.
According to first time director Craig Ryan, the Tank is a humorous musical drama, which tells the story of a battling Australian family and their need for a new water tank.
Ryan said the show would feature his very own country band, Johnny Digotis Swamp Band, which will play all the music and bring the colour of the country to the stage.
“It’s something different for Sunshine Community Theatre,” the director said.
“It’s a quality, contemporary show, with lots of humour and folk music.”
The long-time amateur theatre performer said it was important that Brimbank residents continued to support local productions as it always provided a fun night out for the whole family.
The show opens on Thursday 5 November and runs for two weeks on Thursday, Friday, Saturday night from 8pm at Demspter Park Hall, 82 Phoenix St, North Sunshine. For play information and bookings call 0407 802 165.
