Demolition permit rejected

HOBSONS Bay City Council rejected a permit application last Thursday for the demolition of a historic home in Verdon St, Williamstown.
The council received 22 submissions regarding the application, with many citing the inappropriate nature of the proposed development for the property.
Verdon St is a recognised heritage precinct.
Victorian Premier Steve Bracks lives in the street, but the council said this had no bearing on the permit decision.
