A DRIVER escaped serious injury after he was involved in a series of collisions in Newport about 10pm on Thursday night.
Police said the man was driving east along Mason St in a stolen Holden Commodore when he lost control at the intersection of Graham St.
After coming to a stop, the man reversed the car over a stop sign, which “catapulted” the car through the front yard and into the front window of a house on Mason St.
The car was then driven into the fence of the house next door, scattering bricks in the area, before the car flipped onto its roof and came to a stop.
The first house was unoccupied at the time and all five adults in the second house escaped without injury, police said.
A man was seen limping away from the scene but police are investigating the possibility more people may have been involved.
