A TEENAGER was robbed when he got off a NightRider bus in Deer Park on 10 April.
Police said the 18-year-old male alighted from the bus around 1.30am on the Sunday morning at a changeover point in Ballarat Rd, Deer Park.
The Bacchus Marsh teen was walking to the next bus stop near Station Rd, when another male demanded he hand over his wallet.
Police said the victim believed the male who targeted him had been a fellow passenger on the first bus.
The teenager initially refused to hand over his wallet, but “when the offending male made an inference that he had a knife, he handed over his wallet, which had a substantial amount of cash in it and his mobile phone.”
Senior Sergeant Fred Grove from Sunshine Police Station said other commuters were around when the crime happened.
Afterwards, both the boys took the next bus and the offender got out at a stop near Centenary Ave in Melton.
The victim travelled to his stop and then contacted police, who are looking at video from the first bus to assist their investigations.
They have appealed for anyone else on bus who may have seen incident take place or who has any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 33 000.
The incident is being investigated by the Transit Robbery Taskforce.
