A GLENROY man has allegedly blown more than triple the legal alcohol limit after crashing his vehicle through the front window of a restaurant in Laverton last week.
Police said the car was travelling west along Aviation Rd when it veered across the road on to the median strip and a concrete edged garden bed about 10.30pm Sunday 23 June.
The vehicle then mounted the footpath and crashed through the front window of Fresh Chilli Thai Restaurant in Laverton before hitting a table of unsuspecting diners, pushing them further into the restaurant.
Three diners, a man and two women were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver was trapped inside the van, but was uninjured.
Police allege the 57-year-old driver blew .179 on a breathalyzer.
The man is expected to be charged on summons for serious traffic offences including reckless conduct endangering life, criminal damage, excessive PCA, dangerous driving and careless driving.
