POLICE last week charged a Laverton man with murder following the stabbing death of a man in Braybrook last Monday.
Phillip O’Brist, 54, was taken into police custody a short time after the stabbing, which occurred about 6.15pm, near the corner of Beachley St and Turner Crescent.
The dead western suburbs man, 37, received fatal injuries to the upper body and died near the scene.
Police believe the incident followed a dispute between the two men.
Homicide detectives and the Melton Criminal Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the incident.
