KEILOR is the Women’s Big V Basketball division two champion after defeating Casey by seven points on Saturday night.
The Thunder raced to a 10-point lead at the first break and it looked as though championship glory was going to come easy.
However Casey hit back in the next two quarters, slowing Keilor before a dominant third term gave the Cavaliers a four-point lead at the final change.
As it has done all year though, Keilor rallied with Jessica Franke standing up in the key moments.
She finished the match with 16 points which included a clutch three-point shot late in the last quarter when the pressure was at its highest.
The 52-45 win hands Keilor a 2-0 sweep of the finals series.
The news wasn’t as good for the Keilor men’s team which went down to Melton in its finals series 2-0.
After dropping game one of the series by eight points, the Thoroughbreds took game two by 15 to claim the championship.
