A FALSE alarm for Point Cook firefighters turned into an extraordinary drug bust that has left police on the hunt for alleged drug dealers.
At around 8pm on Wednesday last week, CFA crews attended a call out for a fire at a house in Palmer Ave in Point Cook.
When they arrived however, they found that there was no fire, but instead there was a massive stash of cannabis plants and an intricate hydroponics system.
The police were then called in and they obtained a warrant and searched the two storey home.
“Police found plants, at various stages of growth, in every room of the house and spent all night dismantling the sophisticated hydroponic set up,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
“Police removed over three hundred plants from the house and are currently making inquiries to locate the occupants.”
When Star went to press, police had still not managed to track down the owners of the house.
