SALLY’S pasta-making workshops at the Delahey Community Centre are a source of scrumptious sustenance.
The Bacchus Marsh resident will be teaching a workshop at the centre in March, following on from the success of a similar session she conducted last year.
“It’s just one of the many things I cook,” Sally said.
“I always cooked when I was a child with my Nan and my Mum’s a good cook too.
“I just love cooking and I like new challenges.
“My husband loves pasta so he’s happy.”
Sally said some of her cooking students from last year would return to this year’s class.
“It got them inspired and it’s good to see them walk out and be proud of what they have made,” she said.
“I think it’s satisfying learning new skills and know they can do it at home, at any time.
“I think people think making pasta is harder than it really is.
“They turn up and are surprised that it’s easier than they thought.”
Sally also teaches flower-arranging – and how to make candles, soap and body products – at the Sydenham Community Centre.
In addition her busy schedule includes acting as an instructor at children’s cooking classes at the Delahey Community Centre.
“The kids think it’s great,” she said.
“They can take their creations home for mum and dad to eat and are like, ’Wow, I made this pasta’.”
Sally’s adult pasta-making class will be on from 10am to noon, Thursday 13 March, Delahey Community Centre, 80 Copperfield Drive Delahey. Cost is $30. See www.delahey.org.au for more information.
