POLICE have praised the actions of a good Samaritan who came to the rescue of a woman during a handbag snatch in Albion last week.
A 22-year-old woman was pushed to the ground and forced to hand over her bag during the terrifying attempted robbery which was committed on Lawson St just after 7am on Wednesday.
A 55-year-old passer-by intervened, chasing down the man and holding him until police arrived. Officers searched the man at the scene and allegedly found a large kitchen knife in his possession.
The 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with armed robbery and related charges. He appeared in the Sunshine Magistrates Court last week.
