PUPILS from Newport Lakes Primary School stepped out in some spectacular costumes to celebrate the written word last Wednesday.
The school had a Book Character Day which included a parade around the playground to show off students’ outfits including Lennon, who dressed as Captain Hook, Lauren the zebra and ‘Blue Dog’ Bill.
Last week, schools across the West celebrated Book Week, which is organised by the Children’s Book Council of Australia.
