DETECTIVES are are investigating an aggravated burglary and serious assault at a home in Kings Park last month.
Investigators from the Armed Crime Taskforce were told two men jumped the side fence of the Kingdom Ave property around 8.30am on Saturday 28 July and attempted to gain entry to the rear of the house, before going to the front door.
The victim, a 26-year-old man from Bentleigh East, opened the front door and was confronted by the men.
One of the men was armed with a knife and stabbed the victim several times causing life-threatening injuries.
There were three other people in the house at the time of the incident, including a two-year-old child.
Police believe the men left the property in a vehicle, possibly a dark coloured sedan, which was observed on local CCTV in the vicinity of the scene. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
