KEILOR Primary School will have their first school fete in 18 years and it’s going to go off with a bang.
Keilor Primary School’s twilight fete will be held this October and the kids are already excited for the firework finale said organiser Kerry Thynne.
Ms Thynne said the community spirit in Keilor was alive and many community groups were going to be part of the night.
“It is big part of fund-raising for the school, however we are very fortunate to have a large community involvement in this fete,” Ms Thynne said.
“Everyone’s coming together from all aspects to get this done,” she said.
“Kids are doing stalls too and the kids are excited because it’s something local they can go to and have fun for the night.”
Ms Thynne, part of the school’s Parents and Friends team which is putting the event together, has a long-time family connection to the school.
Both her parents attended the school, followed by her and her sister and three of her four children have and are still attending the school – her youngest will start there too one day.
Ms Thynne said depending on the fete’s success the team hoped to put together another fete every couple of years.
The Keilor Primary School Twilight Fete will be held on Friday 25 October from 5pm to 10pm.
The fireworks display will be at 10pm.
