A MAN was bashed in front of his girlfriend during a terrifying home invasion in Deer Park last week.
The 23-year-old man and his 20-year-old partner were in bed in the Huddersfield Rd home at around 5:30pm last Monday when two intruders broke into the house and assaulted him.
Police believe the men entered through the front door and went straight to the bedroom where they bashed the victim, knocking him unconscious.
The man was taken by ambulance to Footscray’s Western Hospital where he was treated for a black eye and injuries to the right side of his face.
Investigators believe the men went to the house with the intention of assaulting their victim.
Nothing was stolen during the incident.
Police have so far been unable to establish a motive for the attack.
The attackers are described as being Caucasian and in their mid 20s.
One of the men was wearing a black hat at the time of the attack.
Detectives are hoping to speak to anyone who may have seen the attackers leaving the scene.
