NO longer do the students of St Margaret Mary’s Primary School have to take their art classes in classrooms or corridors.
A brand new building is giving budding Salvador Dali’s and Claude Monet’s the dedicated space needed to nurture and foster their growing artistic flair.
St Margaret Mary’s Primary School principal Andrew Leighton said that the Government’s Building the Education Revolution funding totalling $925,000 was a great capital investment in the school and they were very grateful.
“Along with the new art space, we have also received a new library and computer lab, have built a disabled toilet, purchased mobile interactive whiteboards and revamped our staff room,” he said.
“The students love the new space, and our art teacher now has a dedicated space to house all her materials and hold her classes.”
Local MP Nicola Roxon, said the new facilities were making a real difference by improving the learning environment for children.
“The purpose of the BER is to prepare schools for the 21st century and this historic investment in the modernisation of St Margaret Mary’s Primary School will support the future learning needs for students in many years to come.”
