BUSINESS owners wanting to expand are encouraged to attend a Business Now seminar.
Hobsons Bay acting mayor Angela Altair said the seminar would feature guest speakers and workshops.
“Business Now is the first event of this kind in the western region, with six local councils and other support agencies all working together to target and celebrate small business in Melbourne’s west,” she said.
The seminar is being held on 12 August from 8.30am to 2pm at the Victoria University Campus Convention Centre, Gate 1, 460 Ballarat Rd, Sunshine.
To book a place call Lillian Santoro-Woolmer on 9688 0195 or email lillian.santorowoolmer@maribyrnong.vic.gov.au by Wednesday 6 August. “Participants will benefit from the experiences and advice of the guest speakers and can learn more about visual merchandising, increasing brand power, protecting assets, time management and how to turn workplace skills into qualifications.
“I am pleased that local entrepreneur Milly Parker, from Newport-based company Happy Yappers, will be one of the guest speakers.”
Guest speakers include Jason Clarke from Minds at Work, Mark Rodrigues, senior economist from the ANZ Bank, Ralph Plarre, the chief executive officer of Ferguson Plarre Bakehouse, Milly Parker, owner of Happy Yappers and Vern Fettke, the director of the Homestead Financial Group.
The seminar is held as part of the State Government’s Energise Enterprise Program.
