AFTER celebrating the inaugural St Jude awareness Day, students from Lakeview Senior College now have a greater understanding of what matters most in life and are looking forward to a future filled with helping others. The school hosted guest speaker Felix who has travelled all the way from the school of St Jude in Tanzania and is touring Australia to offer words of wisdom and hope. School captains, pictured, Shelley Senech and Nick Christoforou, along with vice-captain Sherry-Rose Watts, said the special day was a resounding success, and students were now more motivated than ever to help youngsters in developing countries access basic rights like food, shelter and water. Assistant principal Jennifer Warne said staff members were very proud of the students and the commitment they had made to support St Jude and its pupils. “This is a genuine partnership that heightens our children’s responsibility to be aware … and creating a tangible difference in another community,” Mr Warne said. The school raised $1300 on the day. 108530 Picture: DAMJAN JANEVSKI
