
POLICE are seeking assistance regarding a series of thefts at hardware stores across the western suburbs in August.
The first incident occurred on 18 August at a Millers Rd, Altona North store around 1pm.
It is alleged a man removed a drill from its box and placed it down his pants, leaving the store in a blue Holden Commodore sedan.
Socket sets, drills, battery chargers and a saw were among other items believed to be stolen during similar incidents at stores in Caroline Springs, Sunshine, Taylors Lakes and Hoppers Crossing.
Police believe two caucasian men were involved in the thefts.
One is described around 175 cm tall, medium build, thin face, short, spiky black hair and walks with a distinctive wobble and shoulder movement. The other man is around 185cm tall with a thin build.
