CHILDREN attending Altona North Childcare Centre are officially getting a healthy start to life, according to judges who gave the centre an award acknowledging its health promotion activities. The centre won its Start Right Eat Right award for getting children under its care off to a flying start through a healthy diet and plenty of exercise.
Williamstown North Ward councillor Peter Hemphill said staff at the centre had sought to change the children’s eating and playing habits.
“Children at the centre have been made a part of the food planning and preparation process even to the extent that they are helping to set the table,” Cr Hemphill said.
