Brawl in Albion on Saturday

By Alesha Capone

MORE than 80 people were allegedly involved in a brawl outside an Albion function centre on the weekend.

A man was also stabbed in the alleged Talmage St fight.
The Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit is investigating the alleged fight, which they said started between two groups before 3am on Saturday.
Police said many of the people involved in the “large brawl” allegedly fled the scene before officers arrived.

Two men presented at Sunshine Hospital a short time later, one with facial injuries and the other with a puncture wound to his chest.

The victim with the stab wound has since been transported to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition.
A police statement said the majority of those believed to have been involved in the incident were not cooperating with investigators.
Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a Westernern Australian man, 27, in relation to the incident.

Anyone with information can Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
