UNIVERSITY Park Primary School students in St Albans, including Nhu, left, Celia and Bailey watched in amazement as teacher Ian performed an experiment as part of Science Week festivities. Importance was placed on food chemistry with youngsters preparing their own meals and researching what went into the food they were consuming. Teacher Diane Plim said the program emphasised the importance of ensuring high standards of freshness, quality, supply and availability and complying with regulated health and safety standards. Ms Plim said the science program also drew on the school’s newly established school gardens with use of fresh produce to conduct food/produce quality testing. 69565 Picture: JOE MASTROIANNI
