A DELAHEY man died following a horrific crash in Kings Park this month.
The 22-year-old man was critically injured after his car hit a pole in Galena Crescent at around 4am on 19 May.
Police believe the man was heading east along the crescent and had only travelled 100 metres when his car hit the concrete power pole, crashing through the fence and landing in the driveway of a nearby home.
Firefighters took about half an hour to cut the trapped driver from the wreckage.
Paramedics from Deer Park treated the man at the scene in pitch black conditions, working around the damaged car.
He was placed in an induced coma and taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital where he died two days later.
A male passenger was uninjured in the crash.
Police are currently preparing a report for the Coroner.
