A COUPLE were bound and gagged during a terrifying home invasion in St Albans last week.
The man and woman aged in their twenties were in their Ure St home at around 3.30am on Thursday when two armed bandits forced their way inside.
Brandishing a knife and gun, the men used duct tape to bind their victims to a computer chair while they ransacked the home, stealing jewellery and the couple’s car. The ordeal lasted around 15 minutes.
Police believe the incident may have been sparked by an altercation that began at the front of the property. The male victim suffered head injuries during the attack.
Forensic Detectives were on the scene on Thursday fingerprinting and collecting DNA evidence. Senior Constable Troy Gourlay said the couple had been considerably shaken by the incident. Anyone who may have seen a Nissan Skyline fleeing the scene, or who has any other information is urged to contact the Keilor Downs Criminal Investigation Unit on 9365 3333.
