MEMBER for Gellibrand Nicola Roxon opened the expanded Complete Family Care GP clinic last week, following a $300,000 funding boost from the Federal Government.
The funding boost resulted in two new doctor’s rooms and a car park expansion at the clinic, Ms Roxon said.
“Complete Family Care provide medical services to people right across the West, including three generations of many families,” she said.
“This expansion of services is another example of Labor delivering for the western suburbs.
“I announced this funding when I was the Minister for Health and as such, have great personal pride in this project being completed.
“Together with the afterhours GP helpline, residents of the West can receive the best possible health care, no matter where they live and no matter what time of the day.”
Since 2010, the Federal Government has invested $118.5 million in Primary Care Infrastructure Grants to upgrade existing facilities in around 240 general practices, primary care and community health services, and Aboriginal Medical Services to improve access to integrated GP and primary health care.
Yarraville Village Family Medical Centre also received $140,000 Primary Care Infrastructure Grant to expand their facilities.
