‘AND in the Darkness Bind Them’ – an ominous title for a dark and mysterious ballet.
Hobsons Bay City Council in association with the National Theatre Ballet present the play as part of Art at Your Doorstep.
Matthew Thomson’s dark, mysterious, new work is a chamber ballet presented in the style of a baroque fantasy, which takes the viewer on a voyeuristic journey, peering behind the curtain to observe the machinations of the court puppet master and one woman’s attempts to free herself from his malevolent clutches.
Over the past 75 years, the National Theatre Ballet School has been training talented dancers to work in the professional dance and performing arts industry with graduates performing all over the world.
Arts at Your Doorstep is Hobsons Bay City Council’s annual performing arts program, which brings some of the world’s best performing artists to Hobsons Bay.
This year’s program will appeal to all ages and tastes and includes children’s theatre, performances by the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, comedian Josh Earl and Queen of Burlesque Moira Finucane and her award winning show Caravan Burlesque.
‘And in the Darkness Bind Them’ will show next Tuesday 7 August at 1.45pm and 6.30pm at Williamstown Town Hall.
