Time for tennis

MAY Muggleton and  Megan Elliott, members of the Tweed Heads "Legends" team will play in the 2014 Australian Seniors Carnival at Hobart in January.

THERE are 109 teams from all over Australia participating with 618 individual players.
The teams have six players who rotate regularly.
May is a member of the 60-69 team & Megan a member of the 70-74 team.
Not only is there tennis in Hobart, the Seniors have organised a full social calender for the month to provide the players with entertainment & site seeing.
May & Megan are wearing their Qld outfits as they will represent Qld in team events.

Locally, after nine of 15 rounds, all teams will take a break for the school holidays.
In the Ray White-Banora Point Junior Premier League, A Grade sees the Top 4 teams headed by Brody Luc/Flyn Schieb on 28pts from equal 2nd Patrick Myles/Taiki Tomizawa & Flynn Ross/Matt Nicholson 24pts and 4th Zane Sillery-Shaw/Brandon Stockwell 20pts.
In B Grade, Lewis Smith/Dylan Falls have lead all the way so far and sit on 33pts, from 2nd Lawrence Miles/Krystal Stockwell 29pts, with Aidan Bingham/Nick Chadburn 28pts and Daniel Tarbuck/Alex Uitjendaal 27pts in 3rd & 4th positions respectively.
The Saturday Morning Junior Fixtures sees a wonderful mix of teams from Tweed Heads, Kirra, Banora, Kingscliff, Pottsville and Murwillumbah in the Top  four positions throughout the Divisions 1-6 and a number of teams in 5th and 6th knocking on the door. It will make for an exciting run to the semis when they return.
On the junior tournament scene, many of our top juniors are currently representing Northern NSW in the Qld State Teams Carnival. With over 350 of the best junior players from Northern NSW, Queensland & Northern Territory playing, it makes for one of the best competitions throughout the year.
