The Tweed has scored a grant of $9,720 to improve access to transport information as part of a regional grants program.
Local MP Geoff Provest announced last week that the funding would go towards the Tweed Shire Best Practice Passenger Timetable and Bus Stop Network Map initiative servicing Tweed Heads, Pottsville and Murwillumbah, as proposed by the Transit Australia Group (Surfside Buslines).
“This is good news for local public transport passengers as these improvements will provide benefits for years to come,” Mr Provest said.
“Timetables will be distributed to public transport outlets, Surfside Busline depots, local distribution points (Tweed Shopping Centres) and can be found at www.surfside.com.au. Network Maps will also be installed at over 100 bus stops throughout the region.
The Country Passenger Transport Infrastructure Grants Scheme is administered by Transport for NSW and provides support to improve transport infrastructure for customers outside major cities.
